A.J. Juliani is the Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling author of Adaptable. He serves as an instructor for the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education (PLN) and former Director of Learning and Innovation for Centennial School District. As a curriculum coordinator, tech director, English teacher, football coach, and K-12 instructional coach, Juliani has worked toward innovative learning experiences at all levels of K-12. He is also an award-winning blogger, speaker, and author of multiple other books, including the best-sellers Empower, Launch, and The PBL Playbook. His favorite role is dad to five kids!

George Couros is a worldwide leader in the area of innovative teaching, learning, and leading, and he has a focus on innovation as a human endeavor. Most importantly, he is a proud father and husband. His belief that meaningful change happens when you first connect to people’s hearts is modeled in his writing and speaking.

In his 20-plus years in the field of education, he has worked at all levels of school, from K-12 as a teacher, technology facilitator, and school and district administrator, and is currently an Adjunct Instructor with the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania.

Couros is also the author of the books The Innovator’s Mindset; Empower Learning, Unleash Talent, and Lead a Culture of Creativity, Innovate Inside the Box, the “Because of a Teacher” series as well as “What Makes a Great Principal” and hosts the popular “Innovator’s Mindset” podcast.

He has keynoted hundreds of conferences, including national conferences on five different continents. His work has been translated into multiple languages due to its worldwide impact.

TASA members are invited to join us at 1:30 p.m, Tuesday, April 9, for a free live virtual event on “Learning & Leading in the World of AI” with 2024 TASA txedFest keynote speakers George Couros and A.J. Juliani. The online event will be moderated by Jill Siler, TASA Deputy Executive Director, Professional Learning.

There are many obstacles and opportunities with artificial intelligence (AI), and it has the possibility to change the way learning happens both in and out of school forever. How do we lead with these emerging technologies while still focusing on curiosity, developing wisdom, and embracing our humanity? In this free live virtual event with George Couros and A.J. Juliani, we will discuss how we can use these technologies while giving practical examples and opportunities to utilize AI in our own practice. We’ll help you guide staff and students to leverage AI for better learning experiences and innovative opportunities in our changing world.

A.J. Juliani is a leading educator in the areas of innovation, design thinking, and inquiry-based learning. He has worked as a middle and high school English teacher; a K-12 technology staff developer; an educational consultant for ISTE; and an educational speaker. A.J. is currently the director of technology and innovation for Centennial School District. He is the author of books centered around student-agency, choice, innovative learning, and engagement. Jill Siler served as the superintendent of Gunter ISD from 2012 to 2021, when she joined the full-time TASA staff. While a TASA member, she chaired TASA’s Future-Ready Superintendent Leadership Network (FRSLN) Design Team, which brings together innovative leaders from across the state to learn, share, and grow together. She published her first book in 2020, focused on thriving through the most difficult moments of leadership.
